Once you have disembarked for your Edinburgh and Rosslyn Chapel day tour, your guide will be waiting for you, and then, your day, your way, will begin.

We will start your day by traveling south for Rosslyn Chapel, The chapel, founded in 1446, took some 40 years to build with its ornate stonework and mysterious symbolism have inspired - and intrigued  artists,  visitors and film crews ever since . Beneath the ornate carvings, underneath your feet is a spartan stone crypt that figures into one of history's most famous mythologies. According to legend, the treasure of the fabled Knights Templar is stowed in a still-deeper vault whose entrance is sealed off by a stone wall. Depending on whom you ask, that treasure is the Holy Grail, sacred scrolls from the time of Christ, a fragment of the cross on which he died, or even his embalmed head, secreted out of the Holy Land as the Templars fled prosecution 700 years ago.  There are countless theories, myths and legends associated with the Chapel, many of which are impossible to prove or disprove conclusively.

From here we will then carry on our day into the heart of Scotlands 5th capital, Edinburgh.  In the centre of the city is Edinburgh Castle, and within the castle walls is the oldest building, built over 1000yrs ago, St Margrets Chapel.  It is also home to Scotland’s crown jewels, arguably the oldest Crown jewels in Europe, and also, the Stone of Destiny, traditionally used in the coronation of Scottish monarchs

From here all the way down the old cobbled road which is known as the Royal Mile, to the royal residence of Holyrood Palace. The Royal mile is filled with narow vennels and tall tenements, which can transport you back in time - in your imagination!

Then, there is the gorgeously elegant georgian New Town, full of stunning architecture, with lovely gardens and neoclassical buildings.

The city is also  home to Arthur’s Seat, an extinct volcano in Holyrood Park with sweeping views from its peak. From the top, you can expect great views of the city, including Edinburgh Castle, and the Firth of Forth and beyond.

From here its just a short wee journey back to your ship.
